History
The Delta King Riverboat Hotel is a historic paddlewheel steamboat that has been transformed into a hotel and restaurant. Originally built in 1927 by the California Transportation Company, the Delta King operated as a passenger and freight vessel on the Sacramento River between Sacramento and San Francisco.

In the mid-20th century, with the decline of river travel, the Delta King fell into disuse and was eventually retired. However, in the 1980s, the vessel was restored and reopened as a hotel and restaurant in Old Sacramento, offering guests a unique and nostalgic experience. Today, the Delta King Riverboat Hotel stands as a living piece of history, providing a charming and historical accommodation option for visitors to the Sacramento area.

Haunted History

There have been many reports of unexplained footsteps, doors opening and closing on their own, and sightings of apparitions on the Delta King Riverboat.

One of the most famous ghost stories associated with the hotel involves the spirit of a former crew member named Pierre. As the story goes, Pierre tragically lost his life in the engine room and is said to linger on the boat.
