Monterey: Macabre Monterey Ghosts Walking Tour
All tours meet at:
Colton Hall Museum and Jail
Take a tour of Monterey, California, a fishing town on the coast with a long history. You’ll walk through town and along the waterfront to hear about the past of Monterey.
According to US Ghost Adventures:
“You’ll meet your guide at Colton Hall Museum and Jail, where the spirits of innocent prisoners can be heard gasping, wailing, and picking guitars. From there, you’ll wind through seven other historic, haunted locations, including the famous Monterey Hotel.
“Scan the water for sea monsters at Old Fisherman’s Wharf. Learn why John Steinbeck ordered a priest to exorcise the Lara-Soto Adobe before he moved in. You’ll hear tales of murderous doctors, fun-loving tavern owners, and the victims of a bloody 19th century tragedy.
“By the time you reach the final stop, you’ll have plenty of spooky stories to fuel your nightmares. You may even have a ghost story of your own.”
About US Ghost Adventures
US Ghost Adventures has been operating ghost tours across the United States since 2019.
According to their website, “We deliver fun, yet honest accounts of hauntings across the nation. Our ghost stories are based on historic research, but that doesn’t mean they won’t send a chill down your spine.”
They operate in nearly 100 cities, including obvious haunted locations like Boston and Charleston to less-obvious cities like Cheyenne and Denver. US Ghost Adventures will share the history of the cities and locations while taking you to the haunted locations around town.
