History
The Captain Nathaniel Lord Mansion is a historic house in Kennbunkport, Maine. It was built in 1812, and was owned by only one family until 1972. A three-story addition was added to the home in 1859. The mansion was at the center of the growing shipping and shipbuilding industry in the 19th century.
Captain Lord died in 1815 but his wife and children lived in the mansion after his death and passed it down over the generations.
You can stay at the Nathaniel Lord Mansion — it is now a bed and breakfast. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973.
